Thirteen-Year-Old Boy Bitten More Than 100 Times By Dogs

A boy in New Zealand suffered severe personal injuries in an incident which just as well could have taken place in North Carolina.

The 13-year-old boy was attacked by four pig-hunting dogs and sustained personal injuries from the more than 100 bites he received to his arms and legs.

According to Dr. Fiona Neary, the doctor who treated the boy, the injuries the boy sustained were among the most extensive she had ever seen.

The boy was saved from the dogs by motorist Jenny Robinson, who stopped her vehicle and pulled him into her car and to safety as the owners of the dogs were attempting to drag them away from the boy.

The boy was required to undergo surgery for the injuries he sustained.

According to Sergeant Rod Smart, the boy was riding his bike through the small township of Waitoa when the pitbull-greyhound mixes escaped from the garden of their owners. Smart said that the attack lasted several minutes and resulted in more than 100 bite wounds, mostly to the arms and legs. Smart said some of the injuries went all the way to the bone.

Smart said that had Robinson not stopped and pulled the boy into her car and drove him home, his injuries could have been much more severe.

The dogs have since been destroyed.

If you or a loved one is attacked by a dog or dogs and sustain personal injuries, you should seek the counsel of an experienced personal injury attorney.
