A German Shepherd/Great Dane mix has been placed in quarantine in Washington County, Tennessee after biting a 9-year-old girl causing personal injuries. According to Washington County deputies, the child was admitted to the hospital on July 2 after the dog attacked her the night before.
The dog’s owner, Denise Anders, claims that it wasn’t vicious and had never done anything before.
According to deputies, the reason why the dog attacked is still uncertain. According to the victim’s mother, she was attacked while simply bending down to retrieve a toy, but they were told a different story by a witness.
According to Washington County Deputy Lt. Gary Wiseman, the girl’s injuries were not life-threatening but the doctors recommended that she undergo surgery. He said that she suffered four or five puncture wounds to her ear, face, and neck.
